About Us
Beadle-Brown Consulting is a small team of associate consultants who have worked together in one way or another for at least 20 years. We are collectively and individually driven by the desire for an inclusive, compassionate and accessible society for all but particularly for the most isolated and excluded from research, from education and from society as a whole – those with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We work with a human rights perspective and with positive and person-centred approaches at all level of the system.

Our consultants
All of our consultants have at some point in our career worked with and been influenced by the leadership, mentorship or teaching of the late Professor Jim Mansell - one of the pioneers of community-based services in the UK and one of the originators of person-centred active support and the concept of practice leadership in the context of disability services.
We all have at least 20 years experience working locally, nationally and internationally with individuals with disability, their families, their schools and services, their service providers, and their local and national governments.
Why we do what we do
Over 1 million people with disabilities in Europe still live in institutions.
People with intellectual disabilities spend on average only 40% of their time actively engaged. They have no contact from others 75% of the time.
Only 5% of people with intellectual disabilities in the UK have a paid job. 86% would like a paid job.
